Dancer.
Award Winning Choreographer.
Multidisciplinary Storyteller.
Former Attorney.
Born and raised in San Jose, California, I began dancing in the mid-2000s. As the first woman to represent Playboyz Inc. since its formation in 1981, making it one of the oldest active street dance crews from the west coast, I have performed, taught workshops, competed in and judged dance battles all over the world.
My 20 years of experience within and around various dance communities continue to influence my work as an interdisciplinary storyteller. From immersive installations that embolden audiences to explore their own natural dance movement, to street dance theater performances and dance films that examine the autoethnographic aspects of dance improvisation, I create from a place of knowing dance not only as an artistic medium, but also as a method of inquiry, of transference, a way of relating and connecting, and an instrument for liberation and restoration.
I received my MFA in dance from Arizona State University in 2020, my JD from the UC Davis School of Law in 2012, and my BA in world arts & culture (dance) from UCLA in 2009. My dance films and installations have been presented in international festivals and art/cultural institutions including the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Okayama Art Summit, The Museum of Wild and Newfangled Art, Tokyo Biennale, SFFILM Festival, Cinedans, and Dance Camera West.
